Farewell, Snow White
So today is the last day of operations for the Snow White’s Scary Adventures ride at Walt Disney World. I will be sad to see it go. But I am even more sad that it is being replaced by yet another meet and greet for princesses instead of a new ride. I have nothing against princesses, but there are enough places to do that already. It should have been replaced with another dark ride, and I think the fact that it isn’t adds to the disappointment of many over its closure.
I’ve read several blog posts reflecting on the closure, but this farewell by Shane over at Parkeology was one of my favorites. A mix of nostalgia and trivia, it is definitely worth a read for fans.
And for those who might not have had a chance to ride one last time, Jeff Lange DVD captured the ride via video yesterday. I want to say enjoy, but that doesn’t seem quite right. Seeing Dopey wave goodbye is just too bittersweet.
